“I am a contemporary applied artist, intrigued by the complexity of the human mind. My work is a thought process, evolving in time and space. It forms a visual diary uncovering and discovering aspects of my life, using materials as a language and turning thought into form. I use the ‘sieve’ as a metaphor to show how we filter our thoughts in response to difficulties in life and how we ‘fill in the gaps’ to make sense of it all. The beauty of the precious silver in this piece contrasts with the hardship represented by the nails filling the space. Nonetheless, this piece is still standing in the face of adversity.”
