“This series explores daily routines and how we interact with the simple everyday objects associated with them. Objects appear familiar, but through the use of unexpected materials, their function remains uncertain. I work primarily with parian; a self glazing porcelain clay, and each piece is made using the process of slip casting.
This project has been an exploration of colour, texture and form, and through the use of nylon flock, I add questionable surface textures to each piece. Wearable pieces are suspended by silicone tube – that, combined with the hairy texture of the nylon flock and the delicate gleam of the parian create a tactile combination which begs to be touched.”
